| Do I need special track elements to connect the sensors to? | No, simply lay the sensors under your track. The sensors work with slot race tracks in any scale and of any manufacturer known to us. |
| Do I need to drill holes in my track to fix the sensors? | No. You can fix the sensors in many different ways. Most simple is to lay the sensors under the track without any fixture at all. To prevent the sensors to move under the track they should be fixed with scotch, toy bread or clue. The sensors also have two holes. By help of these holes you also can screw the sensors to your track. |
| Do my slot cars need a magnet to get recognized from the sensors? | No, the sensor gets active with flat metal pieces like the housing of the electric motors used in slot model racing cars. If the motor is very tiny, clue household aluminum foil under the car. But this never had been necesary on any of the slot track systems tested by us. |
| Each slot track has current rails made of steal. Does they have any negative influence on the sensors. | No they don't. The sensor box automatically compensate the static signal of whatever current rail. You only have to make sure, that the sensor can not move against the current rail - if so, the sensor would recognize the metal current rail as a car. |
| How big must a metal piece be to be recognized by the sensors? | This depends on a lot of parameters - mainly from the distance between the metal piece and the sensor. A 20 x 20 millimeter metal piece is recognized without any problems in a distance of 18 millimeters. |
| I have more then one slot care racing
track.
Can I buy the sensors separately. |
Yes of course. Please ask your dealer. |
| Can I use the sensor-box for 4 lane slot car racing tracks also? | The sensor-box has 4 inputs for 4 sensors. Theoretically it is possible to use the 1 sensor for each track. Practically RACECONTROL-SOFT_DOS today is supporting 2 lane tracks only. RACECONTROL-SOFT_WIN will support 4 lane tracks using the same hardware. |
| Is the time resolution really 1/100 of a second ? | Oh yes, the internal resolution is even higher = 1/4800 of a second. The time information is trasfered form to the PC but only displayed at 1/1000 resolution. So you now why there is a first and a second place for drivers having the same time. |
| I have a RACECONTROL-SOFT
version on a floppy disk. The file has a size of approximately 1,3 Mbytes.
Through the Internet I have download the same version with a file of only 300 Kbytes. What is the difference between both? |
On your floppy disk RACECONTROL-SOFT
is contained more then once.
In case of read errors on the floppy disk you will probably succeed to install RACECONTROL-SOFT anyway. Both versions are 100% the same. |
| RACECONTROL-SOFT shows the real spead of the race cars. Can I set the programm to show the scale speed? | Yes, thats easy. Simply input for the
track lenth, the measured lenght multiplied with the scale of your cars.
Exsample: track length = 1270cm. Scale = 1:32. Input (1270cm * 32 =) 40640cm. |
